Replies to Blog Comments from My Readers

March 9, 2010
Since I can no longer reply to comments, I am replying in this post to my two most recent comments from my readers.  I hope this problem will soon be resolved.  Thanks for your patience.

To Bonnie of March 9, 2020, Thanks so much for your comment.  I am a DAR daughter and the registrar of my chapter. I, too, would love to have Eleanor Harbin Triplett as one of my patriots, but I cannot prove that Verlinda Triplett who married Richard Ferguson was her daughter. Several other children have been proved as her children.  If you possibly descend from one of them, all you need to do is link to another DAR member who descends from one of those children and, of course, prove your lineage to that child.  You will not have to prove that Eleanor raised cattle and fed the troops because that has already been proved.  Good luck.  Keep me posted.

To Anonymous of Oct. 12, 2019, Thank you so much for your comment about Ephriam Hamilton West.   I'm sorry that I have not seen your post before now. Yes, I believe that James West who married Ann Stroud was the son of John West and Eleanor Massey. John West and his 1st wife, Mary Madden, were my 6th gr grandparents.  My sister has an FTDNA autosomal match with a man who descends from James. I think you are on the right track.

  1. Hello, I found your blog quite by accident while researching George McNiel, my great, great, great, great, great grandfather. So delighted to see the connection we have. I think we may be sixth cousins.

  2. Elizabeth, Thanks so much for your comment and interest in my blog. George McNeil was my 4th great grandfather. Let me know if I can help you any anyway with your McNeil lineage.
